Gareth is service architect with personal lived experience of mental illness and addiction. He provides research, design and development for government agencies, health and social services, universities and not for profits.
Diagnosed bipolar mid way through a psychology PhD, his recovery journey has seen him work nearly every job in mental health and addiction services, from psychiatric nurse aide to service manager to government analyst. He has built, run and evaluated a diverse range of services in the hope that should he ever have to use them again, they’ll be better than they were. Gareth is also an acclaimed musician and laughter yoga leader who blends his personal story in workshops, performances and presentations to inspire and educate people about wellbeing.
